Sterling was born in San Angelo, Texas in May 1985. He attended Wall High School and participated in numerous school, sports, and agriculture-related activities. Throughout the years, he spent most of his free time working on the family-owned ranch in Ozona, Texas. In 2003, he was accepted into Texas A&M University, and eventually came to the conclusion that he wanted to have a career in the real estate field. During the summer of 2007, he was given the opportunity to do an internship with AgTexas Farm Credit Services in Stephenville, Texas as their first ever intern for real estate appraisal. Upon completion, he returned to College Station to finish a degree as well as pursue real estate appraisal full time. Sterling graduated from Texas A&M University in May 2008 with a bachelor's degree in Agriculture Economics with a focus in Finance and Real Estate, as well as double minoring in Business and Economics. He has been appraising commercial and farm/ranch properties across the state for the last three years, and is currently working towards a General Certified Appraisal License, MAI designation, and Broker's license. Sterling moved back to San Angelo in December 2010 in order to be closer to family, expand his appraisal business to better serve West Texas, as well as pursue a career in real estate sales.
